I always assumed there was nothing I could do outside of professional whitening.
Well, I’m a do-it-yourselfer. I hate paying people to do things I can do on my own.
So in 2004, I splurged and purchased my first Sonicare toothbrush.
A few months after that, I started experimenting with Crest White Strips.
Slowly but surely, my teeth began to brighten up. Friends and family started to comment and my best friend even joked that my teeth were fake.
The best part is, I’ve been able to maintain my white teeth, keep my enamel healthy all from the comfort of my home.
My dental checkups are a breeze and I’ve been able to sustain my level of whiteness for years by simply going to the dentist twice a year, brushing twice a day with my Sonicare electric toothbrush and occasionally using a white strip application (every 12-18 months or so).
I do drink coffee about 3-4 times per week and consume tea occasionally (see tips on preventing stains). So over time these kinds of things do cause my teeth to lose some of their brightness — which is why I use a white strip application every so often.
But I’m very careful with those because I know that you can damage your enamel if you use them too much.
Whether your teeth are yellow, yellowish or just slightly stained, I hope this site helps you on your teeth whitening journey!
