I tried Crest Whitestrips for the first time many years ago. I received instant results and my teeth were whiter than ever.
So if they worked so well for me, then why don’t they work for others?
The answer is simple…
Everyone’s teeth are different.
Genetics Impact How White Your Teeth Will Get
People who have naturally whiter teeth, will have better results with over-the-counter products.
I have genetically whiter enamel. What can I say, it’s a blessing from mom and dad. 🙂 So when I used the strips the first time, my teeth were only slightly stained and that makes a huge difference.
On the other hand, if you have really yellow teeth then you may find that the strips will only make a small difference.
If your teeth are extremely stained, you should probably see a dentist and consider doing some professional teeth whitening. The professional whitening treatments use higher levels of peroxide than the OTC products.
You may have to use two applications back-to-back. If I remember correctly, the directions tell you that it’s safe to do so. Just be careful and don’t use more than directed.
When I used them for the first time, I used two boxes to get the maximum results, but I haven’t had to do that since.
Consider an Electric Toothbrush
This actually helped more than the whitestrips. So I think if you can remove as many surface stains as you can permanently by practicing good hygiene and using a good toothbrush, the whitestrips will be more effective.
In fact, you may discover that you don’t even need to purchase them at all.
I Found a Cheaper Alternative
For the record, I don’t use Crest Whitestrips anymore. I found a cheaper alternative that works just as well. You can read about it here.
